Support Holly Murray in the 2009 Walk to Cure Diabetes

Hi! As many of you know, I have had type 1 diabetes for almost six whole years now. Every day I have to prick my fingers and take syringes of insulin multiple times per day, which gets to be very hard and stressful at times. If I do not take my insulin, I will become very high risk for several complications such as heart disease, limb amputation, loss of vision, coma or death. And the risks don't end there either! My insulin helps to manage my blood sugars, but the bad news is that there is not yet a cure. However, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation provides hope for a cure within my lifetime with a bit more research and money. This coming October I will be participating in the JDRF walk to cure diabetes with my newly diagnosed friend Steve Darcey. I am sending this e-mail to provide awareness for this walk, and to ask you for a donation to help Steve and I raise money for our walk. New Features

Today I added a forum (Everyone should already be a member of it) and email (For those who what a myname@thekeithfamily.us address) The forum is hosted by Google and has virtually unlimited space (no 100 mb limit) it also is updated from the myfamily.com social network and I am looking into integration with Facebook so we can stop checking multiple sites for updates.

To send information to the forum just email thekeithfamily@googlegroups.com and everyone in the group will get the information in there preferred manner. (Via email, RSS, or by checking the site)

Let me know of any other features you would like on the main page.

Family News, now on the Interwebs.

With the grandchildren spread cost-to-cost it can be hard keep track of all that is going on. At some recent family gathering Jayne was inspired to use the internet to track what is going on. In the weeks that have followed we have set up a group on Facebook, and My Family. I have since purchased this domain and started to populate it with information, but it will take the whole family to keep the information relevant.

What you can do:

If you have news, just send your news to blog@thekeithfamily.us and I will get it posted in this blog, in the future I will setup a private account that will automate the process so a simple email updates the blog securely. (That way rival families can’t post erroneous information!)

If you email me (dwk@thekeithfamily.us) I can set up an email account for you, this will give you access to add events to the calendar, edit the wiki site, as well as create and share documents. I am in the process of setting up a group address book and jabber server so we will always have each other’s latest contact information.
